R.W. (Bob) Wall

The Wall family moved to Nanaimo BC from the mainland in the 1960’s when Smith Brothers &  Wilson Ltd. was awarded the contract to build the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, (NRGH).  Bob Wall’s father moved to Nanaimo to supervise the construction of the hospital.  After the NRGH was built, Bob’s father also supervised construction of the Kamloops post office and a high rise in Kelowna for Smith Brothers & Wilson Ltd.
During high school Bob got his feet wet in construction by spending his summer holidays working for his father with whom he also did a carpentry apprenticeship after graduating.
1969 was a big year in Bob’s life. Bob and his father started their own residential construction company. Over the next seventeen years the company built several hundred residential projects.  In 1969 Bob also married Patricia with whom he has raised their three daughters.
In 1986 Bob left the family business to establish R. W. (Bob) Wall Ltd., a construction company focusing on commercial construction projects.  In 1991 Donna Hais, Bob’s daughter joined the firm.  This partnership has now built many hotel; condominiums; social housing projects; professional and medical offices; dental clinics; surgical centres; churches; school projects; restaurants; retail outlets and warehouses.
